A covered structure is one of the most useful additions to a garden — it turns a terrace from somewhere you sit in July into somewhere you use most of the year. We set out post positions, foundations and roof configuration against the site before anything is ordered, because a pergola is only as stable as what it stands on.
Most projects use a pre-fabricated pressure-treated frame, which carries a manufacturer's guarantee against rot and infestation and is the sensible choice on budget and durability. Where the setting calls for it — particularly alongside a period property — we can supply and cut a hardwood frame to exact dimensions instead. We will tell you honestly which one your project warrants.
